How Big Do Maine Coons Get?

An adult male Maine Coon can weigh between 10–12 kg, while females are generally smaller, usually reaching around 8–9 kg. Maine Coons are a slow-maturing breed and can take up to 4–5 years to reach their full size and development. Our male Maine Coons are so large that they are even bigger than our dogs!

How Much Will A Maine Coon Eat?

Maine Coons are a large breed of cat, but they are not excessive eaters. In most cases, you won’t notice much difference in their eating habits compared to other cat breeds. We always recommend feeding high-quality food, as better nutrition helps keep your cat healthier, happier, and more satisfied. Maine Coons should always have access to a premium-quality dry food, as they tend to enjoy small meals and snacks throughout the day.

Will A Maine Coon Fit Into Your Family?

Absolutely. Maine Coons are well known for their gentle, relaxed, and affectionate nature, making them wonderful family pets and excellent companions for children.

Our grumpy granddad “Barloo,” a male Maine Coon, has been part of our family for the past 14 years. He was our very first Maine Coon, and our children were only 5 and 3 years old when he joined our family — with another baby on the way at the time. Over the years, he has shown us just how loving, patient, and family-oriented this breed truly is.

Maine Coons are calm and easygoing cats that enjoy human company and love being involved in everyday family life. They will often follow you around the house, relax near you, and happily become part of the family routine. Their friendly personality and gentle temperament make them especially good with children and other pets.

Will A Maine Coon Get On Well With My Other Pets?

All animals are different, but Maine Coons are known for being very easygoing and adaptable cats. Of course, any new pets — and even new babies — should be introduced to your Maine Coon carefully and responsibly. During the adjustment period, they may pout or sulk a little, but they usually settle in quickly and adapt very well.

Many people soon discover that one Maine Coon is never enough, and before long, they find themselves with a whole gang living happily together. Maine Coons love companionship and generally enjoy the company of other animals, including dogs and other household pets. Their friendly and social nature makes them a wonderful addition to multi-pet families.

How Old Will My New Kitten Be?

Our kittens remain with their mothers until they are between 8–12 weeks old, ensuring they receive the best possible start in life with proper socialization, care, and development. Once you have chosen your kitten, we will provide regular photos and videos so you can watch your new baby grow before coming home.

Before leaving for their new families, all of our kittens are fully vet-checked, wormed, vaccinated, and desexed, giving you peace of mind that your kitten is healthy, happy, and ready to settle into their forever home.

How Can I Get A Kitten If I Live In Another State?

We can safely fly our kittens to their new homes using registered and trusted pet couriers. We will arrange flight quotes and handle all the necessary travel documentation for you, making the process simple and stress-free.

Please note that flight and transport costs are an additional charge. Once your kitten arrives, you can either collect your new baby from the airport or arrange for home delivery directly to your address.
